Qing Ming day

On monday her in China was the Qing Ming Festival. This day is a remembrance of ancestors – it’s similar to All Saints Day and The Day of the Dead. People clean the tombs of their ancestors and offer them food, drink, joss (paper gifts) and spirit money (not real currency). Some people carry willow branches to ward off the evil spirits that are thought to roam the earth on this day.
Qingming is also a celebration of the spring. People have picnics, play on swings and fly kites.
So Pascal Family decided to go to visit a Temple here in Shanghai, spending a relaxing day visiting tombs and enjoying the park!

Good morning Shanghai!!!

i have to tell the truth: shanghai is stunning, amazing and beautiful, but you feel like a bread crumb in the middle of the skyscrapers and millions of chinese walking around you.

sincerely i thought to see more western people around me and more honestly i thought i would have been more impressed by the presence of millions of identical faces.

it's not as shocking as i thought.

actually  the most difficult part is the food. It's not arduous to find it of course.... there's plenty of small cheap restaurants everywhere, the hardest part is to order! beside the language,  how can u make them understand that we want a bottle of water if they don't even conceive the fact that someone could drink cold water from a bottle during lunch? how can you make them understand "one bottle of water" if they use the same word to say "cold" and "bottle"? we tried.... the result was a glass full of ice without a trace of mineral water in it.... the plan B is to carry a bottle of mineral water everywhere as an example of what we would like to have.

The food is definitely good and completely different form the one in italy, but the real chinese is still unreachable for us. we are forced to get in the places where the menus are at-least equipped with (distorted) pictures of what you will get if you are lucky.

enjoy the video... and u'll understand the difficulties.
